why is the acquisition of English important.

The world is increasingly interested in shorten distances and to facilitate the processes of communication, therefore the english to become a fundamental tool to communicate with people from all over the world and that is why teachers are increasingly the need to teach more than the ability to translate, it is becoming increasingly more important to acquire the ability to thrive in the culture and to have good fluency in using the language.

For those students who are faced with the acquisition of english there are too many borders of learning that cover important points from the curriculum until the daily use of the language, therefore it is necessary a pedagogic practice that facilitates an understanding of the same sign from a social perspective and from a academic perspective.

The teaching of grammatical or times of the verb to be is very important, but the questions for a teacher should be: what exists beyond what the curriculum proposed? What knowledge requires a candidate who is confronted with another language? What are the most effective tools for teaching English as a foreign language? to question about the most usual problems inside the class classroom provides to the teacher an idea to design new methodological proposals, one of the big barriers is that we learn to depend much of the mother tongue and it is made difficult to us to learn other ways of naming the reality, of coexisting with the ideas of others and especially of acquiring the aptitude to communicate in other contexts and other cultures.

The most important thing for a student is to understand the close relationship between language and culture, and then there must be a process where the student will be able to learn English as a code completely different to the spanish,  with other forms of pronunciation with other forms of expression and with other forms of significance of the world, learning a language requires much more than grammatical concerns or form, it is also necessary to see the phonetic appropriation of knowledge, cultural, psychological and academic order, this is all set makes the learning process a more complete and comprehensive.

Proposal for teaching English as a foreign language.

I strongly believe that the teaching of a foreing language, in this case the English, should be subject to three factors that not only invite to the students to be interested in the acquisition of another language but also to see the world since another culture and another way of naming the reality.

The first thing that must be taken into account is that acquiring a language determines a learning process even deeper than is normally is given, since students must be willing to see the world to a completely different perspective because if we consider that the language and culture go hand in hand so the classroom must be a place willing to visualization an understanding of new forms of naming the world and not only to tranlate it.

The second important thing is the methodological desing of the activities  of the class, since they must be raised in such a way that you will give the students the tools to understan both language and culture.

it is therefore important to articulate the concepts with images for the acquisition of the sign will be more fruitful, in adition, teachers and students needs to put the referent in context to understand the possible relations between words within a space and a time.

And the third important thing is the use of teaching materials that could destroy the barriers of learning and teaching and can provide acquisition of significant knowledge. what is intended in latest is to teach the english language since a didactic practices which will allow  the students to know more than the grammar and vocabulary so the interest of this proposal lies in the fact that in the classroom will be able to give a knowledge of a language most dynamic and concrete. it is important learn the objects, ideas, perspectives (etc) since the other culture, so learn other language requires other linguistics structure.

HOW TO BRING THIS PROCESS TO THE CLASSROOM.

  • The first step is to have images of the word, concept, idea or theme that is this teach, in a Saussure words "acoustic image" this is necessary for the student to acquire the sign more easily.
  • the second step is to make know the meaning of the word, thing, idea or topic, the specific definition of something helps the students to define particular concept within a culture and at the same time, the students will be able  to make relations more extensive and useful  as long as it is able to acquire synonyms and antonyms of the word and could be uses from a grammatical point of view social, cultural and academic.
  • the third step is to teach the correct pronuntation based on studies based on phonetics that are simple to facilitate for the students.
